Nancy Wilson was a doorway. A doorway into jazz, performance, storytelling, womanhood with an understanding that there was more than one way for a woman to command a stage. A cassette featuring “Guess Who I Saw Today” opened Jacqueline Tabor’s first doorway into jazz. That connection comes full circle in this concert celebrating the music, storytelling, and womanhood that inspired her.
With her own commanding voice and expressive stage presence, Tabor joins a live jazz ensemble to explore songs including “Never Will I Marry,” “Save Your Love for Me,” and “The Nearness of You.” Personal reflections weave through swinging melodies and intimate ballads, honoring Wilson’s legacy while sharing Tabor’s own story of finding her voice.
