Four-time Earshot Jazz Vocalist of the Year and 2026 Earshot Jazz Hall of Fame inductee Jacqueline Tabor brings a commanding voice, magnetic stage presence, and a storyteller’s instinct to the symphonic stage. Known as the Seattle Chanteuse, Tabor doesn’t simply sing jazz and blues—she inhabits the music, moving effortlessly from a whisper to a roar, from sophisticated swing to deep blues, while creating an immediate connection with audiences.

Tabor brings significant experience performing alongside large ensembles. Her seven-year artistic relationship with Dr. Michael Brockman has included acclaimed performances and continued collaboration through and beyond the pandemic. As a longtime guest vocalist with the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra, she has developed the musical command, flexibility, and collaborative spirit required to stand at the center of a powerful ensemble while still making a performance feel personal. She looks forward to expanding that work with celebrated pianist, composer, and bandleader Orrin Evans.

Tabor’s newest symphonic program, Queen of Swing, celebrates the extraordinary life, artistry, humor, and legacy of legendary dancer Norma Miller. Through powerhouse vocals, symphonic swing, storytelling, and Lindy Hop, Tabor brings the electricity of the Savoy Ballroom into the concert hall—where music and movement meet, history comes alive, and the audience becomes part of the celebration.

Norma Miller didn’t just dance to the music—she helped define what swing looked and felt like. Queen of Swing carries that spirit forward, connecting generations through the songs, stories, movement, resilience, and sheer joy of an artist who helped change American culture.

More than a tribute, Queen of Swing is an invitation to experience swing as it was meant to be experienced: alive, communal, sophisticated, and impossible to sit still through.
