Join us for the world's longest-running presentation of Duke Ellington's sacred music, presented in partnership with Earshot Jazz. This December, SRJO welcomes to the stage internationally acclaimed vocalist Dee Daniels (who is featured on SRJO's Sacred Music of Duke Ellington CD) to sing Come Sunday, in the Beginning, Don't Get Down on Yout Knees to Pray, and more.
This year's concert will also include acclaimed Seattle Chanteuse (and SRJO audience favorite) Jacqueline Tabor singing Ellington's lovely ballad Heaven and more. Of course, SRJO's Alex Dugdale returns as tap-dancer for David Danced Before the Lord. Don't miss this holiday performance of works drawn from Ellington's three Sacred Concerts featuring blues, gospel, and jazz pieces that the Duke considered some of his most important creations. It's a high point of the holiday season!
